Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) & Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) successfully conducted the second Global Roadshow 2022 for the upcoming 9 MMTPA grassroot mega refinery and petrochemicals complex on 11.11.2022 at Nagapattinam.
This Global Roadshow on “Project Construction Equipment” brought together regional, national & global equipment suppliers and service providers on a common platform, to interact with stakeholders of Cauvery Basin Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (CBRPL). The global roadshow focused on supplier / service providers of project construction equipment such as earth moving equipment, heavy lift equipment, tractors/trailers & piling rigs etc.
The inaugural session was graced by Mr.M. Selvarasu, Member of Parliament, Nagapattinam, Dr. Arun Thamburaj,, District Collector, Nagapattinam, Mr. H Shankar, Director (Technical), CPCL, Mr.K.S. Raju, Executive Director (Projects), Engineers India Limited (EIL), senior CPCL/IOCL officials and dignitaries from international & regional industry.
Mr. H Shankar, Director (Technical), in his welcome address, appreciated the stakeholders for their passionate involvement and overwhelming interactions between regional, national & international players. Mr.Shankar also stressed upon the all-round growth and development of the region, considering the various opportunities that are available to the local enterprises.
In his address, Dr. Arun Thamburaj, District Collector (Nagapattinam) highlighted the enormous opportunities that will be generated by this project for the “Sons of the Soil” & the socio-economic benefits for everyone in the region. Disttrict Collector emphasized on the importance of collaborative approach as well as bringing national and international expertise to develop Nagapattinam in tandem with successful execution and commissioning of CBRPL project.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr. M. Selvarasu, Member of Parliament, Nagapattinam, recollected the development of the region when 1 MMTPA refinery was built in 1992 and expected to see multifold development in the region considering the mammoth size of the project. The Member of Parliament reiterated the importance of this project in boosting the sense of entrepreneurship among the regional community.
The technical section of the global roadshow saw presentations from CPCL sharing the potential business opportunities for various project construction equipment and its application areas. Also, many project construction equipment players presented their capabilities and interest to contribute to the CBRPL project. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr.R.V.Anand, Chief General Manager, 9 MMTPA Refinery Project, CPCL.
Given the overwhelming participation from international/national & enthusiastic participation from regional players, the event was a steppingstone towards the success of CBRPL Project which will be a pride of Tamil Nadu & Nation.
