CPCL provided an Optical microscope for Sankara Nethralaya’s Jaslok Community Ophthalmic Centre at Greams road, Chennai in the year 2018. At Sankara Nethralaya’s Community Ophthalmic Centre, more than 1 lakh poor and needy patients are examined every year and more than 18000 free cataract surgeries are performed. The Optical microscope provided under the CSR project of CPCL will help in providing nearly 2000 free Cataract surgeries every year. It will also help Nethralaya in training the doctors and nurses as it comes equipped with a side tube through which students can observe the expert surgeons performing surgeries.
