SAKSHAM 2022, A flagship public awareness campaign by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), to spread the message of Oil & Gas conservation took off at Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), with full enthusiasm.
The Inaugural function of the campaign was conducted at CPCL Manali Refinery on 11th April 2022, and the campaign will continue till April 30, with the tagline “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav through green and clean energy. The campaign was inaugurated by Mr. Arvind Kumar Managing director- CPCL, in the presence of, Mr. Rajeev Ailawadi, Director (Finance), Mr. S. Krishnan Director (Operations), Mr. Shankar Director (Technical), Mr. J.T. Venkateswarlu Chief Vigilance officer, Mr. T.N.K. Bapi Raju, Chief General Manager (Technical), along with other employees of CPCL.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arvind Kumar in his inaugural address emphasized that Energy Conservation is the foundation of energy independence and the importance of energy basket transition to non-renewable energy resources combined with green and clean fuel technology. He also administered the SAKSHAM pledge to work towards an energy-efficient & energy secure Aatma Nirbhar Bharath and shared about fuel conservation efforts actioned at the refinery level. Earlier Mr.T.N.K. Bapi Raju, Chief General Manager (Technical) presented the welcome address and elaborated on the various activities like cycle rally, walkathon, and Fuel-efficient cooking competition planned during this month-long awareness campaign.
